ダサい

Covers anything unfashionable, lame, or cringeworthy — clothes, behavior, ideas, you name it. The etymology is debated, but one popular theory traces it to 'dasha,' a contraction of 'inaka' (countryside), implying rural unsophistication. In use since the 1970s and still going strong in everyday conversation. Beyond fashion, it can target someone's character: 'ダサいことするな' means 'don't do something so uncool,' implying a lack of integrity or backbone.
