イケてる

A casual contraction of 'ikete-iru' (literally 'it's going/working'), used to call something or someone cool, stylish, or attractive. It exploded in popularity in the 1990s and remains well understood today. Works for people, fashion, places, and even presentations: 'イケてるデザイン' = 'a slick design.' The wildly popular word イケメン (ikemen, 'hot guy') comes from 'ikete-iru' + 'men' (face), proving just how deeply this term is baked into the language.
