めっちゃ

Meccha (めっちゃ) is a shortened form of mecchakucha (めちゃくちゃ) that originally comes from Kansai dialect. It works as a universal intensifier — just stick it in front of almost any adjective or verb to mean "very," "super," or "really." Think of it as the Kansai equivalent of chō (超). While it started as regional slang, TV and media spread it nationwide, and today it's used across all of Japan, including Tokyo. Mecha (めちゃ) and mechakucha (めちゃくちゃ) carry the same meaning. It's used by a fairly wide range of age groups.
