オワコン

A mashup of 'owatta' (finished/over) and 'kontentsu' (content), born on 2ch-era forums and widely adopted in the early 2010s. Used to declare that a game, anime, YouTuber, app, or even a whole platform has lost its relevance. The classic format is '[noun] wa owakon' — blunt and final. Targets range from specific titles to entire media formats ('TV is owakon'). Sometimes used with a hint of humor or exaggeration, but it can also sting when aimed at creators.
