タイパ
Taipa
たいぱ
A contraction of タイムパフォーマンス (taimu pafōmansu, 'time performance'), meaning efficiency or satisfaction relative to time invested. It was named one of the buzzwords of 2022 and captures a defining value of Gen Z in Japan: maximizing the return on every minute. Think watching movies at 2x speed, preferring short-form videos over long content, and skipping anything that feels like a waste of time. It's modeled after コスパ (kosupa, 'cost performance'), which measures value for money.
